Ideal Handbook for Pressure Cookers
I received an Instant Pot pressure cooker for Christmas, so am anxious to try it out with a variety of recipes. This Instant Pressure Cooker Guide, by Vailnd, is ideal for cooking the basics, until I get the hang of it on my own. Although slim, with not a lot of pages, the Guide is separated into the following categories: Tips and Tricks, High Altitude Conversion Chart, Pasta, Lentils, Rice and Grains, Eggs, Beans, Beef and Lamb, Pork, Seafood, Poultry, Non-Starchy Vegetables, and Starchy Vegetables. There is an optional 3″ x 5″ magnet that can be secured to the backside of the guide for securing to the side of the refrigerator.I must note that this is not a recipe book or cookbook in the traditional sense. I have a cookbook that came with my Instant Pot and it has over 150 pages of recipes. This guide primarily lets you know how much liquid to add to the pot, and the time to cook based on the weight or amount of the food. For example, the guide shows that cooking green lentils will take 15-20 minutes (very soft), 12 minutes (soft), or 6-8 minutes (firm). Cooking lentils over the stove burner can take up to 50 minutes, so this Guide really comes in handy. The pages are laminated, wipe easily, and there are tabs at the bottom, for easy access to the right category of food.I find this guide ideal for newcomers, such as myself, as well as seasoned chefs who are more precise in their cooking habits.Recommended. I found it convenient. The magnet needs to be applied to the back of the booklet. It was intuitive, easy to do, adheres well, and is strong enough to hang on the refrigerator door. The pages are easy to read and color coded. The pages are coated, repel liquid and wipe clean easily with a damp cloth. The spiral binding works suitably for turning pages as long as it’s not damaged, however it is rather thin and easily deformed which then becomes an issue and likely reduces overall durability. I compared many of the booklet’s listings to a reputable source and found the net carbs as listed had good concordance once adjusted for serving size differences. I believe the information appears reasonably accurate as claimed. I’ve been on and off keto since 2018 and this keto guide book (Keto Food Cheat Sheets Magnets Booklet – Keto Diet Beginners Guide, Keto Food Cookbook Magnetic Chart – Ketogenic Diet Weight Loss Low Carb Meal Plan) is mostly for beginners as stated in the listing. If you’re new to low carb and keto eating, this is a nice quick reference to some of the types of foods you can have with its equivalent macros. It’s handy for a newbie and a quick refresher for when you want to start back up again.This booklet comes spiral bond with a hanging loop and a magnet pad you can put on the back yourself by peeling off the backing to the magnet sheet. It’s lightweight and very portable and each page is glossy laminated so it won’t get ruined if you drop water on it and can be wiped clean. I appreciate the serving size info including both ounces and grams and the substitutions listed, I find those two things to be the most helpful for me.Overall it is as described and inexpensive. I’m sure many people will find it useful to help them on their journey to low carb way of eating. I’m glad I was able to get this, hopefully it will help motivate me to getting back onto a low carb keto lifestyle.

Basic reference guide
This guide has a basic set of timings and release settings for various types of foods, and a table of altitude time adjustments. It’s going to be most useful for adapting old recipes for use in a modern pressure cooker. It’s also probably best with grains and veggies. With meats, there is just one timing given for type of meat, without any variance for how you want the meat to come out.
