good instructions for seniors
Great Book if you exercise at home. It’s got clear and concise instructions. Perfect for seniors.

My PT recommended this
I’m not a senior yet, I’m in my mid-50’s and I recently had to go to several physical therapy sessions due to not having much core strength, which was affecting my lower back. I graduated from PT and my therapist recommended this book. It’s great! Easy to do most of them, and the pictures are cute.

Easy to follow exercises
Easy to follow exercises and helpful as well. Too bad I didn’t stick with it. However, the book is a keeper, and I can always get back to it someday. I recommend getting the cards or the book with the spiral binding as that would be easier to keep open while following along.

I found the illustrations odd
I purchased 4 different books to help reboot my fitness journey. I plan on returning this one. The text is legible and I can understand it. Oddly enough I have a challenge with the illustrations. The depictions of the seniors is great, nobody is left behind. Unfortunately they are busy in a greeting card kind of way, very colorful and less than what I would consider 3D. I understand why so many people like the illustrations but I have found other types work better for me. Just a personal preference I guess.

Good for seniors
This book provides a range of exercises for seniors who wish to work out at home and don’t have a home gym. It will help them to strengthen core muscles that affect posture, balance and everyday activities. The exercise instructions and illustrations are not intimidating for those who are older and out of shape. I accompanied a 90-something to a physical therapy session a few times and many of these exercises were similar to what I saw there. It’s not for a 60-something who is active and strong, nor is it supposed to be. A good book for its intended audience in my opinion.

Fantastic Book on Core Exercises for Seniors!
When I go to yoga classes, the teacher often takes one look at me as I walked into the room and announces to the class, “Today, we will focus on core poses!” LOL I am resistant (and always have been) of working my core. That said……………I love this book! The exercises are fairly easy to do (some extremely easy) and very effective. The illustrations are very good. I bought the spiral edition which makes it easy to lay the book flat as you follow the easy step-by-step instructions on the page on the right facing of each exercise–the illustrations of the exercise appears on the left page facing. After using this book enough, the illustrations alone (along with the “Remember” bubbles) are all you may need to remind you of how to do that particular exercise. You can use the suggested 5-minute routines in the latter part of the book or even work thorugh each group of core exercises which doesn’t take that long. The four groups of core exercises are: Seated Exercises, Standing Exercises, Mat Exercises, and Excercises with Weights. The availabe Cards look like they would facilitate easy groupings of the 4 different exercises which make up the many routines in the back of the book. However, I find the spiral-bound book easy enough to flip to the page # of the exercises and mark the spot with a “post-it note” for quick access. The routines give you the page number of the 4 individual excercises that make up the routine. One day I may eventually buy the card deck as well.Highly Recommended!!!!

well written, easy to follow. and good illustrations. If you incorporate these into a literally 5 minute routine each day you will feel the difference rather quickly. improvement in motion and muscles.

Love the illustrations!! The descriptions are also very good and I have actually done them a time or two (chuckle) and I do like that there is also a condensed part with all the exercises together for ease of viewing. Colours are great, quality of paper and cover VG, would definitely recommend. I am senior (73) who has not kept moving as well as I ought, so this is a welcome resource for me!
