    A must read!
This book offers incredible wisdom. I read and reread the chapters and discover new wisdom and treasures in every paragraph. Camille Maureen really understands women and the emotions and struggles we go through. She offers many different methods to work through emotions and challenges in our lives. I feel deeply connected to her writings.

Lyrical, beautifully written, and so woman-affirming!
*****I have read many books on mediation and in the past, always failed at meditation. I now see why. Conventional meditative practices are sometimes not compatible with a woman’s inner style—they certainly weren’t compatible with mine. According to the authors, conventional meditative practices work better in a male monastic setting. This book appeals to women’s innate, instinctual nature, making the practice of meditation for them self-affirming and self-nurturing. After reading two chapters of this book I meditated for twenty minutes…Yeah! And I enjoyed it! I continue to meditate daily. If you are a woman, save your money and buy this book first. Then, if you want others, consider purchasing more; however, you probably won’t want to and you definitely won’t need to.The 12 Meditation Secrets are thoroughly explored:Secret #1: “Celebrate Your Senses”Secret #2: “Honor Your Instincts”Secret #3: “Claim Your Inner Authority”Secret #4: “Be Tender with Yourself”Secret #5: “Dwell In Your Inner Sanctuary”Secret #6: “Answer the Call”Secret #7: “Ride Your Rhythms”Secret #8: “Say Yes to Every Part of Yourself”Secret #9: “Rest in Simplicity”Secret #10: “Honor Your Instincts”Secret #11: “Love Your Body”Secret #12: “Live It Up”Multiple exercises and example mediations are given for each secret. One of my favorite parts of the book is at the start of each chapter (each secret) where the author transcribes her thought during an actual mediation. You get to see realistically how mediation works (and it is SO encouraging) instead of just reading about theory. This is an amazing, life-changing book! I took it on retreat with me and it changed my relationship with my body, my spirituality, and how I feel about myself as a woman. It is a book I will read again and again and refer to often. I wish it was in hardback!*****

Unique book, perfect for women meditators
This is the first book I read on meditation that actually helped me start to meditate. I am a beginner, and have always been frustrated by the sit-down-and-sit-cross-legged approach. Maurine says it’s okay to stand up, look at water, or even walk around if that is what helps. She also says it’s not necessary to try to silence your mind, and actually that can be counter-productive. This made meditation seem more accessible and feasible to me. She really caters to the issues that come up for women, including our need for self-care, to deal with stress, and to work through relationship issues. I can’t recommend this book more highly.

    A Wonderfully Pleasurable Read!
I really love this book, and I’m only about 30 pages into it. This is a wonderful book I’m enjoying taking my time with – even the experience of reading it feels meditative and enjoyable. I was introduced to one of the authors, Camille Maurine, during one of her workshops in an online festival called Embodied Women’s Festival. I loved her personality and what she had to say so much, that I knew I’d love her book and I purchased it right away! I am loving it.

    Rare specific book for women
I met this woman at a class that she co-taught with her husband and have used it ever since to help with the issues that are specifically relating to women and meditation.

    What great insights!
This book is worth reading if for NOTHING else than to discover that meditation does not have to mean complete stillness in a silent room, in a sitting posture while you try to deny your femininity, nor your human desires! I really like how she starts each chapter by taking you through an example of one of her own meditation sessions, which is NOTHING like the stereotypical male session. And her stories of other women’s experiences are just as instructive as her own insights! I’ve referred back to this over the years and it will stay in my collection of books for years to come!

    Speaks to my Heart!
I love this book. It really speaks to my heart. I like the picture on the cover too. I smile when I look at her form. It says, I’m not a man! This book is so rich that I can dip into it at anytime and get something I need. I took the books that made me feel bad to the goodwill. It has a different message than women usually get in this culture. I need all the help I can get when it comes to accepting and cherishing myself as I am. What is in this book I have not found anywhere else. It is helping me get to know myself.

The author’s main purpose in writing this book is to honour our instincts in meditation, not to crush them with strictness and authority. This book will be music to the ears of those who have tried meditation but found it restrictive – you’re allowed and encouraged to move, sing, get in touch with emotions, pray, experience, even think, and generally do what you always wanted to do but thought meditation was designed to prevent. The topic is covered in considerable depth and there are lots of practical advice boxes, guided mini-meditations, real-life examples and exercises you can do on the go. I have been meditating for around 18 years but there was plenty to learn in this book, although it is equally accessible to those just coming to the practice for the first time. This is not a traditional book and those used to Zen or yoga will find it a refreshingly different approach.

I bought this book because i enjoyed meditation but something wasn’t quite right for me about it. I had tried lots of different practices from different paths and something still wasn’t quite gelling. I instinctively knew something was missing and it didn’t take me long to realise that traditional practices are designed for men in a monastery not for women with families and jobs. I’ve gained a lot from the traditional practices and they have helped me through difficult periods. However they didnt bring me JOY or enjoyment of life. Meditation secrets for women has opened a door to that inner joy, peace and contentment and the more i practice the many and varied suggestions the more able to enjoy my life i become. I am thrilled with this book and look forwards to giving it as birthday and Christmas presents to all my female friends who are interested in meditation/spiritual development.
