Excellent – especially for the price
For the money this thing is great and the weight is fantastic for beginners and experienced users alike.Easy to adjust (just need a box cutter or sharp scissors) – just make sure you don’t cut it too short.The PVC rope and aluminum handles are nice and durable and the ball bearings definitely make the whole thing move much more smoothly than a cheap alternative.It’s heavy enough to make learning new step patterns easy because you have good perception of where the rope is and it moves slower than a traditional lightweight rope.On the other hand, it’s still light enough that you can get it moving quite fast once you’ve got your rhythm down – great for cardio and it’ll have your shoulders burning after a few rounds, excellent for boxers and martial artists.I haven’t used the braided rope but it seems to be of equal quality and includes a rubber protector to stop it fraying if used on concrete.If this ONLY included the PVC rope it would be worth the money, so I’m definitely pleased with the purchase.Would definitely recommend – especially at this price.

Durable and harder workout
This is really durable and the extra weight provides a harder workout than a typical jump rope. It is nice that a lighter rubber / plastic type rope is included if you are not a fan of the extra weight. Should hold up longer than the last jump rope.

ok rope, but highly inefficient
as a now avid jump roper, I can say that this is a decent beginner rope but far, far from an efficient one. Not to get scientific, but the fact that the rope is fabric/cotton means that it doesn’t fare particularly well against the air as you whirl it around. i only discovered this after switching it out for an all rubber rope of the same weight. the fabric meets so much drag from air resistance that it renders the exercise quite inefficient. the positive to this is that while inefficient, it doesn’t mean ineffective, since the inefficiency means that you’re forced to really work out your wrists, forearms and shoulders, which I suppose is a weird backwards silver lining to it. But having switched to good rubber weighted ropes, I gave this one away as a starter rope to a friend who’s just getting into jump roping, and even he after a few weeks has purchased better ropes for the same reason.
