A great first speed rope
This was my first speed rope I ever bought and it was a great purchase! It lasted me for YEARS, and the added bonus that it came with a replacement wire made it last even longer! You do have to occasionally check the locking mechanism as sometimes it would come a bit loose. A few times the wire and handle came apart while I was using it, but thankfully I was indoors so I was able to relocate the screws, but it could have potentially been very dangerous as the wire rope went flying. The rope is very lightweight, and was a good rope to learn double unders with, although I would recommend a different rope if that’s what you’re exclusively looking to accomplish. Overall, good value for the money.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: (4 stars)I hurt my ankle right after I purchased this (figures, right?), so I’ve only used it twice and can’t speak to how it will hold up yet. I’m going to write my review based on 2 sessions and come back with an update once my ankle gets better.I like to do jump rope intervals between lifts on my circuit days. I’ve been doing this type of workout for a long time, and my weighted rope has started to put too much strain on my wrists. I got this WOD rope to use for some of my intervals to reduce strain.Pros:Very lightweight.Easy to adjust / cut to size.Tool provided for tiny screws (but you’ll need some wire cutters).2 ropes of different weight included.Storage bag included for tool, extra parts, and 2nd rope.Love the bold color! Yellow says I’m serious. :)Cons:Feels cheap, but time will tell.I’ll be back with an update when I’m jumping again.EDIT: (still 4 stars)Finally, my ankle is better, and I can jump rope more often. I really don’t like this rope by comparison to the last one I used. I could jump forever with my old weighted rope, and it never got caught up in my feet. I cut this one to the same length, and I can’t go more than a minute without stumbling. The only reason I didn’t reduce stars is because it’s a speed rope, so I’m allowing for the possibility that maybe I just can’t keep up with the fast, lightweight style of this, though I really don’t think that’s the problem. In any case, I dread jumping rope with this jump rope, and I wouldn’t buy it again.

Great rope at a fantastic price.
I am a long time Crossfitter, but have always struggled with double unders.Prior to buying this rope, I was using an RPM jump rope – nothing wrong with it, but it was too fast and light for me and I was never able to adjust to its speed. I have also tried Buddy Lee jump ropes in the past, with some degree of success, but both ropes I purchased had quality issues. After a short period of usage, the screw-on nut that connects the handle to the rope became loose, and was impossible to keep tightened.After reading all of the positive reviews of this WOD Nation rope, I decided to take a chance and give it a try. In my first WOD with this rope, I was able to string together 15-20 double unders several times. That was without practicing! I feel confident that with practice, I will finally be able to master double unders with this jump rope.The rope spins very well, and is slightly heavier than the RPM rope, which allows me to better sense the rope’s position and time my jumping correctly. Faster is not necessarily better – if a rope is too fast for your ability level, it is just as frustrating as a rope that is too slow. This rope is perfect.Adjusting the rope to the perfect length was very simple – took me just a few minutes. I followed the instructions I received and used a wire cutter.Highly recommended.

It looks like a jump rope and feels like a jump rope
Honestly used it for the first time before writing this review today, so my 35 minute experience with my work out buddy is just that. It looks like a jump rope and feels like a jump rope. That’s about all i can say. Yes it is a step up from my $10 Walmart jumprope because it has bearings and joint on a 90 degree angle. This makes it easier for double under and what not but as I always buy on a budget, consider your goals. Are you trying to jump rope for just simple workouts then save your self from going all out and buying a fancy rope. If you’re trying to improve jumping with doing stunts or heavier work outs or even jumping faster then really this rope is fantastic and it feels like it will last a long time. If you’re trying to go into breaking super duper cool world records and hop like your life depends on it than sure go even further and buy an even more top of the line rope. I bought the rope cause my $10 rope didn’t last long enough and i don’t like to waste money continuously buying a new rope cause these flimsy things can’t hang with my awesome speed.

Came exactly as described. Super easy to adjust to your height. Great communication (through email) from the original company with videos showing you how to adjust the rope and techniques for perfecting your double-unders. I was considering getting a rope that was double this price that I was using from my gym, but this rope is the same if not better. And there are replacement parts for everything, so if after a year something wears down or breaks, no problem! Highly recommended.
